About the performers . . .

Stephanie Brough is a fourth year student at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where she studies violin with Jerre Gibson.  At the RSAMD, she plays in the Symphony, Opera, Chamber and String Orchestras and also in a Quartet.  During the summer she attended the European Youth Summer Music Course held in Hertfordshire and also took part in the Mendelssohn on Mull Festival where she played in the Chamber and String orchestras.  Stephanie is currently Deputy Conductor and Assistant Teacher with the Bearsden Youth Fiddlers.  At the 2002 Glasgow Music Festival, Stephanie was awarded the Ailie Cullen Memorial Prize which is presented to the Festival's most outstanding performer.

Kate McDermott is a first year student at the Royal College of Music.  Prior to this she studied clarinet with Geoffrey Haydock at the Music School of Douglas Academy.  She has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and has performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.  On two occasions, Kate has played concertos with the European Youth Summer Music Chamber Orchestra.  She has recently returned from a tour of Malta and Gozo where she performed as a soloist and chamber musician.  Kate was awarded the Alexander Trophy at the 2002 Glasgow Music Festival.
