About the performers . . .

She was principle cellist with the National Children's Orchestra of Scotland in 2003 and is a member of the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra. In August of this year, during the Edinburgh International Festival, she performed at the Scottish Arts Club, St John's Church and St Mary's Cathedral.
In 2002, Iona won the William Townsend medal for the most outstanding pianist at Edinburgh Competition Festival. Earlier this year, Iona was awarded the Ailie Cullen Memorial Prize at Glasgow Music Festival. This prize is awarded to the most outstanding performer.
Christina Knox is in her final year at Hutchesons' Grammar School and has studied violin with Julia Carpenter from the age of six. She also started to take piano lessons when she was a few years' older and now studies with Anne Scott.
Christina is a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and Camerata. She has taken part in Glasgow Music Festival since 1999 and this year was awarded the St Mungo Trophy and the Grace Dick Memorial Prize for the most outstanding string instrumentalist.
When Christina leaves school she plans to continue her musical studies in London.
Julia Lynch is one of Scotland's leading accompanists. Although she was born in Dublin, Julia lived in Aberdeen for a number of years before studying piano at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she now works as Staff Accompanist.
Julia is much in demand as a pianist and accompanist and performs frequently in recitals and concerts throughout the UK and abroad. She also broadcasts regularly, mainly for the BBC. Glasgow Music Festival is grateful to Julia for finding time in her busy schedule to take part in this concert.
